Em and Dex. Dex and Em.

I am always that type of person who blurt out saying "I read the book!" while being in the middle of a conversation about movie. I know it sounds annoying for some people and only Lord above knows what they think of me. Perhaps, it makes me sound like a cocky bookworm who's bragging anywhere about her reading habit and so on. But I am not being cocky, I swear. It's just I simply prefer reading to watching. Doesn't mean I don't do movies either. I watch a lot of movies, and I worship some. But if there are movie form and book form of a story, I'll prefer the book form. Why? Because following a story through hundreds pages of book surely involves more emotional feeling than a two hour movies. And I love being emotionally entwined to fictional characters.

But, there are times when I fall in love with a movie before the book. One of those rare cases is One Day. I fell in love with the movie at first sight. Frankly, the only reason why I watched the movie at first place was for the fact that Jim Sturgess stars it. I am a hardcore fans of him a long time back then since 21 and I don't want to miss a single movie of him for he doesn't involve in movies much. But then the reason why I love the movie go far beyond just for the sake of Jim Sturgess. Because this movie, isn't just another cliche friendzone love story. I root for the rapidly moving scenes; from 80s to 90s to 00s. I love the bitter-sweetness chemistry between Em and Dex; the fact that they grow together and complete each other.

All those fanciness then triggered me to buy the novel. They hadn't translated it into Bahasa at that time and even if they had I still would prefer the English version, because I was afraid that the translating process could deprive the wit of the novel. So I spent a month reading it. Compared to my usual reading time which is only days-count, it was a bloody long time. Nevertheless, it was once of my happiest reading experience. If the movie made me shed tears, the book made me howling a desperate silent "WHHHYYYY?" all the time. Why can't just tell her you love her, Dex?! Why don't just let your walls down, Em?! My whole emotions was smartly summarized by a comment of Jonathan Coe upon the novel. "You really do put the book down with the hallucinatory feeling that they've become as well known to you as your closest friends".

But then, I am afraid I should say that Jim Sturgess played Dexter Mayhew way better than Anne Hathaway did Emma Morley. And oh, there's a thing that the movie missed! The movie didn't state Dexter's birthday while the book did. His birthday is...... 1st of August, we share our birthday!!

“And then she frowned, and shook her head, then put her arms around him once more, pressing her face into his shoulder,
making a noise that sounded almost like rage.
'What's up?' he asked.
'Nothing. Oh, nothing. Just...' She looked up at him.
'I thought I'd finally got rid of you.'
'I don't think you can.' he said”

time and the mortals

Time. Time, it has been proposed, is the fourth dimension.
And yet, for mortal man, time has no dimension at all.
We are like horses with blinders,
seeing only what lies before us.
Forever guessing the future and fabricating the past.

i want these movies!

hey.
i won't talk so long, i will just
let you know,
some movies have been always in my thought,
i want to watch them so badly.
but well, i can watch them in soon in about February or March 2010!
here they are:

1. REMEMBER ME
yes, i'm telling you, our lovely Robert Pattinson is in!
in this movie you'll see him not as Edward Cullen, he will be somebody else that is very different.
Robpat will cast as Tyler Roth, a rebellious young man living in NYC.
He has problem with his dad (casted by Pierce Brosnan).
He change when he met a girl,
Ally Craig (casted by Emilie de Ravin) who changed him.
But, as always, their sweet love got threatened.

2. VALENTINE'S DAY
yeah, this movie has become the talk of the town,
since all the cool actors and actress such as
Julia Robert, Jenifer Garner,
Emma Robert, Aston Kutcher, Jessica Biel,
Jessica Alba, Anne Hathaway,
the duo Taylor Lautner and Swift, and etc.
not just that, rumor has it.
this movie has grown love between the duo Taylor.
but well, despite all of that,
i think this movie is very worth of waiting.
The movie deals with casually intertwining stories of the heart that take place,
over the course of one Valentine's Day.
well, as a bonus the famous kissing scene of the duo Taylor,
what can we ask for more?

So all that i can say is,
run faster time, run!

pandora

hey!
yesterday i went to watch Avatar with JA at Lippo Supermal.
we had a whale of time together.
the movie is satisfying, even wonderful.
i couldn't take my eyes from the screen at the whole two and half hour.
salute to James Cameron, who built Pandora in a very beautiful point of view.
i also like the idea of the story of Jake Sully,
although somehow i thought it was similar with another James Cameron's movie,
Point Break (starred by Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze).
well it didn't bother me actually.
before the movie, we went to take some photobox photos at icon life.
i upload some here.
at last but not least,
i kept dreaming of having my own ikran (banshee in pandora)!

xoxo,

the gorgeus chace crawford

hey.
if my previous post was about taylor swift as my fave singer,
now i would like to post about my fave actor.
and he is, of course chace crawford.
well, i've fallen for this boy since he acted as nate archibald in gossip girl season one.
i think beside looking so deadly handsome, he also got a perfect talent.
he has played in a lot of movies beside his breakthrough in gossip girl and in one of them,
the covenant, he played with the stephen strait.
for the future, he's going to play in footlose remark and also casted as
a drug seller in the movie twelve.
so, any reason not to love him?
well, i find none

xoxo,
adeline

welcoming gossip girl season 3

hey.
i've been under some euphoria these few days.
it's all about movie-making, writing, and a lot of other things.
they all make me forgot about one thing i've been waiting for since so long,
guess what is that?
it's watching gossip girl season 3!
yippie, i've been falling in love with this tv series since it's first season.
gg is definetely awesome: in story line, casts (esp. chace crawford, adoring him always), setting (NY never dies), fashion, and so many many again.
i've even influenced my friend to love this series too,
and she's really falling into chuck bass.
and the third season, i believe it'll be more awesome,
since the upper east siders aren't high school students anymore, they've been in universities,
and also the new casts who will spoil us even more, ex: hillary duff
can't wait to watch it!

xoxo,
adeline
