New York, Baby

If someone asks me where I wanted to go if I had a door to go to anywhere, I'd answer New York out loudly. Funny because I've never actually been there, nevertheless I feel something entwined with this city. This madness about everything New York related started along with my madness for Gossip Girl series five years ago. And ever since that moment, I will go mad about everything related to New York. For me, a movie set in New York will never be completely bad, no matter how trashy the plot is or how green the actors are. I still have the vivid New York view to see, and everything is gonna be alright.

I have been bewitched by the fast-paced lives of New Yorkers until I make a promise that I have to be there someday. Frankly, what fascinates me from New York isn't its glamour with the skyscrapers, but the lifestyle of New Yorkers. What I have in mind about being a part of New York is being a civilized human being, who walks in coat, drinks espresso, watches art movies, sits down in chic cafes talking about books and philosophies, visits art museum to commentate on surreal paintings. I know this stereotyping is not true and not all of New Yorkers living the kind of life I always dream of. And if I ever made it there someday, there are big chances that it won't be the kind of life I'll be living. But still....dreaming is legal, so I'll still keep dreaming about my flat in Manhattan with a view to Empire States building and my job in Wall Street. By the way, I think this will explain how much I love New York: every time I listen to Coldplay's Paradise, what I have in my mind is every "Paradise" words are replaced with "New York"....

"In the night, the stormy night, she closed her eyes.
In the night, the stormy night, away she'd fly.
And dreamed of NEW-NEW-NEW YORK."

P.S.: If you share the New York obsession, you should pay a visit to Hello New York.

guilty confession and a welcome back

Wow. wow.
I haven't been updated this blog since like forever. I didn't even peek at it, because it caused me to feel guilty. Well, I actually wanted to come up with some excuses of my whyabouts (is that even a word?) for not posting here since the very early 2011. But then I decided to come clear. The only reason why I haven't been posting anything here is because I am such a lazy and unstable blogger. Ugh, shame's on me, I know. I was honestly about to give up on this blog and just deleted it right away. But, that was before I went to a #PopWriting Workshop with Alanda Kariza and (should be also with) Sitta Karina . But the latter was ill at the D-day so unfortunately she couldn't deliver the topic. The workshop was about writing fiction and writing non-fiction stuffs in....blog form. Geez, I felt a bit kind of embarrassment crawling up myself throughout the session. Why? Because the truth is, I even almost forgot that I run a blog so I simply never thought a single thought about how my blog looked like or if people loved it or if it was useful. So there I was, going home from the workshop with a little commitment in my heart to start blogging again. Actually, I am always the type of person that has too much to talk about. I have a kind of creepy hunger in sharing with people about what I do, what I like, what I believe in. So maybe blogging is the only thing that can quench that thirst. Hmm, then I guess you should be welcoming me back!

P.S.: I am thinking about serious make over for my blog.

16.10.09

hey, hey.
if have to described today in a word, i thought i would spelled that in a word "unique".
today is really suprising somehow, full of a lot surprising things, surprising events as well.
first, the tests, i got two tests today: physics and maths, killing instantly.
and the tests are : difficult, really dropping my mood off.
but, there were a lot of interesting things too today.
we played throwing ball game at CFD (my group was quite good at this, though we weren't the best team), and thanks GOD the 2 hours native lessons didn't have any teacher to teach us, so we were just crazying around, taking a lot of pictures, and laughing one each other.
and the photography time today was so exciting!
our beloved teacher didn't come, so we had to do an assignment: taking pictures of school activities.
so we snapped the badminton, basketball, and volley activities.
not just that, we also shot our two top models: jesica tatang and michelle kristiani.
and the top of today's uniqueness is: the earthquake!
actually i didn't feel the earthquake, because i was at my way back to school after buying ice cream, and i saw everybody in school rushed outside and talked about the earthquake.
and later i found out that the earthquake was 6,4 richter scale and happened near the Ujung Kulon.
weew..
so, i think that's all about today.
bye.
